High School Senior Models

Every year, there are about 10 - 12 photographer girlfriends that get together for a "girls weekend". We have a BLAST! Part of the weekend, we take a few models to a location of our choice, and we just have fun shooting - mostly just for the fun of shooting! Time to play, experiment with lighting, and just shoot! It is not a technical workshop - nobody sets up our shot for us. It's just a chance to play, see other photographers' styles, and have a great time! My favorite part this past weekend, was shooting around the downtown area - especially shooting my favorite homeless friend, John Tucker (he told us his name, and that it was his birthday!). Whether it was or not is irrelevant. I had so much fun in the few minutes that I spent with him. He was so full of life, and love. I would imagine that life on the streets could make you bitter and angry. Rightfully so...but John was the opposite. He said he was drug-free, I'm going to choose to believe him. He was just so charismatic, and fun to shoot. I hope someday he will get off the streets, but until that day, God bless John Tucker! Here are some images from this weekend. Oh my!! I'm a little behind with my blog! Just don't seem to be enough hours in the day for everything. Well, since the Christmas season is upon us...I don't have time to make up for lost time - so I'll just post a few of my favorites over the past couple of months! Yes, my specialty is high school seniors and newborns (I have a newborn this week...I'm so excited, I haven't had on for a while!). But I do shoot other portraits too! I had this beautiful, and simply wonderful woman come in for some new headshots for her Realtor's cards & adverts. If anyone needs a realtor - I can tell you...Jeri is absolutely wonderful to work with in every way. LOVED her!! The best part about my job, is that I end up making amazing friends. I can't wait to shoot her family portraits this season!

I LOVE Brittany! It helps that I ride horses with her! I was so happy and honored that she chose me to take her senior portraits! We had a great time, especially doing some portraits with her pet turtle (a prop that I've never used before!). I can't wait to go out on the town and do her location portraits! She's a fantastic model, and doesn't hurt that she's so beautiful! :)

While I LOVE, LOVE my high school seniors, the softer side of me absolutely adores these babies. I've been so inundated with seniors, I haven't had a minute to post my baby stuff! (Yes, I do baby photography too...it's actually one of my favorite things to do!). This client is a Milestones baby - which basically means that I get the honor of photographing her throughout her first year of life! I love my job!!! Look at this pink little bundle of cuteness!!

I LOVE Senior portraits season! LOVE it!! All the last minute high school seniors. I don't blame them a bit. These kids change so much the last year of high school - and who doesn't want pretty spring portraits?? Well...it's time! The weather is changing and things are starting to green up! If you are waiting to set an appointment...book now! Things will book up quickly over the next month. For "pretty" portraits - we are looking at April to get some real color back in the trees and surroundings, but the weather has been awesome for a more urban look. OK...I'm way behind on blogging, especially for my High School Seniors! (I have to specify HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS because when I just say "Seniors", I always get the "you mean elderly people??" question. Seriously. I do. ALWAYS. OK...so back to the task at hand! Brent and Kelly were married in normally VERY hot Houston, in July. Imaging...outdoor wedding in the middle of July!!! But we were extremely fortunate, it didn't rain on us, but the clouds kept everything cooler! Not that it wasn't hot, but it was WAY better than I feared it would be! Kelly was a beautiful bride!
